Overview of 304 steel sheet

304 steel sheet is an austenitic stainless steel sheet, mainly composed of chromium (17% -19%) and nickel (8% -11%), and containing small amounts of carbon, manganese, silicon and other elements. Its corrosion resistance comes from the passive film formed on the surface, which can effectively isolate oxidizing media and is suitable for various corrosive environments.

Corrosion resistance

It exhibits good corrosion resistance to media such as oxalic acid, nitric acid, and organic acids at room temperature.

Stable in chlorine containing environments (≤ 200 mg/L), but high temperatures (>60 ° C) may cause stress corrosion cracking.

Heat resistance

The antioxidant temperature reaches 870 ° C (intermittent) and 925 ° C (continuous), but performance may decrease in humid environments between 425-860 ° C.

Processing performance

Both cold rolling and hot rolling processes can be used for production, suitable for stamping, bending and other forming processes, without heat treatment hardening phenomenon.

Excellent weldability, thin plate welding does not require annealing, thick plate requires annealing treatment.

Mechanical performance

Tensile strength ≥ 520 MPa, yield strength ≥ 205 MPa, elongation ≥ 40%.
