Surface treatment types and characteristics of 304 stainless steel sheet

1、 Mechanical processing surface

Mirror (8K)

Process: Polishing with wool felt and iron oxide powder grinding solution to form a highly reflective surface with a reflectivity of over 80%.

Applications: Elevator decoration, high-end home appliance panels, building curtain walls.

Drawing surface (HL/filament surface)

Dry grinding and drawing: Longitudinal grinding with sand rollers to form continuous patterns, low cost, suitable for household appliances and handicrafts.

Oil grinding and wire drawing: sand belt+emulsion grinding, with a delicate and oil resistant surface, used for elevator inner walls and high-end equipment panels.

Snowflake sand (NO.4/short thread surface)

Process: Horizontal and vertical grinding with sand belt, presenting intermittent silk patterns and snowflake shaped grains.

Applications: Kitchen equipment, medical devices, building exteriors.

2、 Chemical treatment surface

2B surface (matte matte finish)

Process: After cold rolling, it undergoes acid washing and passivation treatment, resulting in a uniform and dull surface with a hardness of HV150-200.

Features: Anti fingerprint, scratch resistant, suitable for food processing equipment and industrial structural components.

Sour facial cleanser (NO.1)

Process: The hot-rolled plate undergoes acid washing to remove the oxide layer and retain the original color of the metal, resulting in a higher surface roughness.

Application: Corrosion resistant scenarios such as chemical pipelines and industrial containers.

3、 Electrochemical treatment

Electrolytic polishing

Process: Electrochemical dissolution of surface oxide layer to enhance smoothness and corrosion resistance.

Advantages: Eliminating welding heat affected zones, suitable for precision instruments and semiconductor equipment.

4、 Composite processing surface

Titanium plating

Process: Vacuum plating titanium on HL/NO.4/mirror surface, available in gold, black, etc.

Application: High end decoration (hotel lobby, luxury display cabinets), household appliances.

Embossed surface

Process: Roll press to form concave convex patterns (diamond, square, etc.), which have both anti slip and decorative functions.

Application: Vehicle pedals, building stairs, anti slip flooring.
