1、 Definition and Process

The 1/2H hard state of 304 steel sheet belongs to the medium hardness level, and partial hardening is achieved through cold rolling processing. The cold working deformation is usually 15% -25%, which is between the soft state (annealing) and the fully hard state (FH), balancing the requirements of strength and formability.

2、 Mechanical performance

Compared with the fully hard state, the 1/2H hard state sacrifices some strength (about 20% reduction) to retain higher ductility, making it suitable for scenarios that require moderate bending or stamping.

3、 Core application areas

General structural components

Used for building brackets, mechanical equipment casings, and other components that require moderate strength and minimal molding processing.

Food and chemical equipment

Produce components such as storage tanks and pipelines that require high corrosion resistance but do not require high-pressure load-bearing.

Home appliances and decorative materials

As a substrate for refrigerator liners and elevator decorative panels, it balances surface smoothness and processing convenience.

4、 Production and selection

Processing technology

Using multi pass cold rolling (such as a 20 roll mill) to control deformation and avoid cracking caused by excessive hardening.

Surface treatment options include 2B (cold rolled bright surface) or BA (bright annealed surface), suitable for different scene requirements.

5、 Precautions

Welding requirements: Before welding hard plates, preheating at 250-350 ℃ is required to reduce the risk of embrittlement in the heat affected zone.

Stamping adaptation: It is recommended to control the gap between the molds within 6% -10% of the plate thickness to avoid burrs on the punching surface or mold wear.
