1、 Basic parameters and standards

Chemical composition

Element Range:

C ≤ 0.07%, Si ≤ 1.00%, Mn ≤ 2.00%, P ≤ 0.045%, S ≤ 0.030%, Cr 18.0-20.0%, Ni 8.0-10.5% 2.

Material characteristics:

18-8 series austenitic stainless steel, with chromium as the main element forming a passive film to enhance corrosion resistance; Nickel element stabilizes the austenite structure, enhances plasticity and toughness.

Mechanical performance

Strength and plasticity:

Yield strength ≥ 205MPa, tensile strength ≥ 515MPa, elongation ≥ 40%.

Work hardening:

After cold processing, the hardness significantly increases, but residual stress needs to be eliminated through intermediate annealing to prevent cracking (such as seasonal cracking).

3、 Processing and handling

Forming process

Supports cold rolling and hot rolling processes, and can be processed into thin plates (0.3mm-3mm) and medium thick plates (3mm-120mm).

Surface treatment includes wire drawing, sandblasting, mirror polishing, etc., to meet the needs of different scenarios.

Welding and Annealing

Local annealing is required after welding to restore corrosion resistance and avoid intergranular corrosion.

5、 Precautions

Corrosion resistance limitations:

In boiling nitric acid or chloride ion environments with a concentration greater than 65%, the corrosion resistance significantly decreases.

Storage and maintenance:

Avoid contact with carbon steel to prevent electrochemical corrosion; Regularly clean the surface to maintain the integrity of the passivation film.
